- Maybank Malaysia Growth Fund (f.k.a. Maybank Unit Trust Fund)
- Maybank Malaysia Balanced Fund (f.k.a. Maybank Balanced Trust Fund)
(Collectively known as “Funds” and individually “Fund”)

First and foremost, we thank you for investing in the Fund(s).

You are receiving this notification because you have invested in one or more of the Funds, previously managed by Amanah Mutual Berhad (“AMB”), through Maybank.

Following the completion of acquisition of AMB, the Funds were officially on-boarded to MAM on 1st November 2018, and since then you were registered under our register of unit holders, i.e. non-nominee system of ownership.

As of now, you may be receiving notices and reports from both Maybank and MAM but you may not be able to view some of the Funds that you may have invested in through your Maybank2U.

To continue to serve you better, we are proposing to centralise the servicing of our unit holders through Maybank effective 18 August 2023. This centralisation exercise will provide you with easy and expedient access to your investment.

For this purpose, we will conduct an exercise of transferring your investments from MAM to Maybank. Although MAM under the Maybank Asset Management Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of Maybank Group of companies, MAM operates as a separate legal entity.

Under this exercise, your units in the Fund(s) will be transferred to Maybank and MAM shall recognise Maybank as the unit holder of the Fund(s) thereafter. As a result, your rights shall be carried out collectively under the name of Maybank. For example, the right to call for a unit holder’s meeting and to vote thereat shall be carried by Maybank on your behalf according to your instruction. You may also not be entitled the right to have your particulars recorded in the register of unit holders of the Funds.

All transactions pertaining to your investment in the Fund(s) will be serviced by Maybank branches and/or Maybank2u provided you have a Maybank2u account. Your investment statement, transaction slips, periodic reports such as annual/interim reports, prospectuses including any supplementary prospectus and any notification will be sent by Maybank directly to you

If you are currently being serviced by any of the Maybank branches, there would be no impact in accessing your Funds’ investment and it will remain status quo.
With the proposed change of servicing agent, you will also be able to access your Funds’ investment anytime anywhere with Maybank2u. For more information on investing through Maybank2u, please visit www.maybank2u.com.my/unit trust.

Nevertheless, pursuant to Section 305 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007, you have the right to call for a meeting of unit holders to consider the above matter.
However, we will call for a unit holder’s meeting if:

(a) not less than fifty (50) unit holders or one tenth (1/10) of all unit holders of the Fund direct us to do so; and
(b) the direction is given to us in writing at our registered office below:

Maybank Asset Management Sdn Bhd
Level 12, Tower C, Dataran Maybank,
No.1, Jalan Maarof,
59000 Kuala Lumpur
Attn: Client Services Department

If you are not agreeable to be serviced by Maybank, please write to us by 14 August 2023 to exercise your right to call for a unit holder’s meeting. If we do not hear from you or if we do not receive a direction from at least fifty (50) unit holders or one tenth (1/10) of all unit holders of the Fund, we will proceed to transfer your units in the Fund to Maybank by 18 August 2023.

We believe the change of servicing agent will provide you with convenient and easy access to your Fund’s investment information.

If you need further clarification, you may contact our client services at +603-2297 7888.

Thank you.

This announcement is dated 14 July 2023.
